DESIGN & BUILD
The Zero Waste Shelves are designed with circularity and efficiency at their core. Constructedfrom EKOPly — a robust sheet material made from 100% recycled plastic — the shelves offer a durable, low-maintenance alternative to plywood or virgin plastic panels. EKOPly is fully recyclable, resistant to weather, rot, acids, and chemicals, and outperforms traditional timber in longevity.
Each shelving unit is dimensioned to maximise material yield from a standard 2.4m x 1.2m sheet, with less than 10cm² of waste produced per board. The modular construction reduces production time and allows for efficient batch fabrication. We’re also exploring CNC machining to further streamline the process and minimise energy use.
Designed around full-sheet dimensions with minimal offcuts, the Zero Waste Shelves are a practical response to sustainable making — combining functionality, low environmental impact, and material integrity.
