67. PINEHURST COURT.
DESIGN & BUILD.
This project involved the full internal reconstruction of a Georgian studio apartment in West London, designed to significantly improve spatial functionality while retaining the elegance of the original architecture. The client, a fashion student, required a dynamic and uplifting environment that could support both domestic use and creative work.
The scheme centred around the removal of internal partitions and the introduction of a steel-supported mezzanine structure to make use of the apartment’s 4m ceiling height. This intervention allowed for the creation of distinct living, sleeping, and working zones within a compact footprint. Services and storage were discreetly integrated throughout the lower level to preserve open volumes and sightlines.
Design emphasis was placed on the rear of the plan, where bespoke finishes and layered detailing add visual interest and texture. In contrast, the front of the apartment remains light and open, maximising daylight from the original sash windows and maintaining the spatial generosity characteristic of the building’s Georgian fabric.
