PEG SHELVES.

DESIGN & BUILD

Built for adaptability and structural clarity, the Peg Shelves are a 3.2m-high freestanding shelving system made from solid Douglas Fir — assembled entirely without mechanical fixings.

Colour-faded steel pegs support each shelf, while lateral stability is achieved by threading the uprights directly through the shelves.

Every component is hand-cut and aligned with precision. The absence of fixings requires exact tolerances; each hole was individually drilled and routed using a combination of jigs, laser levels, and string lines. This manual process creates subtle variances that form tight moment connections — making the structure even more rigid than if it had been CNC-machined.
